Aesthetically pleasing atmospheres that are easy to maintain, flexible and functional. We strive for a timeless look, eschewing trends and putting our client’s needs first.

Over our 28 years in business, we have done everything from the restoration of an 18th century gristmill in Virginia (hence The Mill Company name) to the design and renovation of countless private residences and commercial buildings—even churches.

In every case, part of our process is to consider lighting, acoustics, electronic systems, heating and cooling and as appropriate food service and multiple flexible seating as part of our architectural origination or renovation/remodeling task. We do so to achieve a seamless, practical and comfortable space, all delivered within budget.

The Mill Company is widely recognized for award-winning interior design. Recently, The Mill Company was featured in the January 2008 issue of Architectural Digest.

R. Edward Bouchard, ASID, Mr. Bouchard received his training in advanced interior design and architectural design and drafting in the United States and Europe. He has lectured on the subject of Interior Design and was a featured speaker for the Smithsonian. A licensed designer and professional member of ASID, he began his career at the firm of B&E Endeavors in Alexandria, Virginia. He founded The Mill Company, with M. E. Yeck, in 1979.

M. E. Yeck, ASID, Mr. Yeck holds degrees in Fine Art and Interior Design, is listed in International Who’s Who in Interior Design and is the recipient of The Capital Design Award from IFDA. A licensed designer and professional member of ASID, he lectures nationally on Design and Decoration and operates Decorative Arts Seminars and Study Tours for students and professionals. He has an advanced degree from La Academia di Firenze, Florence, Italy and a diploma from The American Academy in Rome. He founded The Mill Company, with R Edward Bouchard, in 1979.
